Remember Them While They Still are Alive
I don’t know
if Jimmy Carter will live until his 100th Birthday 12 days from
now. He has been recognized, though
probably not “enough” – in this era – of horrible hatred(s), so different from
his kindness.
-In August,
1973, in response to my good friend Kenny
I said the stupidest thing I’ve ever said:
“Why would I
want to go to see Duke Ellington perform?”
Edward
Kennedy "Duke" Ellington (April 29, 1899 – May 24,
1974)
-
-George Hrbek:
6/27/31
- 2/19/23
I “met”
George June 27, 2022 at his birthday party on Zoom and knew the “right thing to
do”. You can learn a little about this
incredible man – at:

November 12,
2022 – Scott and I presented a panel, including George which you can view at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETxMm4R5Rs8
.
-Noam Chomsky
has had a major stroke which keeps him from responding to the Genocide in Gaza
currently. His 96th birthday
will be December 7, 2024 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noam_Chomsky
.
-Jerry
Butler – will turn 85 – on December 8, 2024.
His music is incredible! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Butler

Betty
Everett – two weeks older than Butler, died in 2001 – sang with Jerry Butler in
the: “Shoop Shoop Song” – It’s In His Kiss – lived in the last years of her
life on SSI living in Beloit, Wisconsin.
A fellow claims representative in the Janesville Social Security Office
told me that she dutifully reported her royalties to Social Security, thereby
reducing her benefits .
-Lynn
Burnett – a “youngster” – who connected me with George Hrbek – a close friend
and ally working very hard at recording the words of founders of SNCC – while they
are dying off – currently working on a hoped for biography of one of the Great
Ones – has a lot of great things to share:

I’m sure
that others can suggest many more!
Acknowledge those who are living while they are live and while most of
them can appreciate it.
Also, don’t
be ashamed to share one’s own life experiences. I took one thing for granted – never knowing
– (trigger warning: could offend some):

and on NPR -
that I’d
lose this part of my life.
*** Finally - I'm afraid that Dalia may have died - murdered - by the Genocide in Gaza at the young age of 22! She hasn't posted anything on Medium (where I "met" her) since September 15th - four days ago - I did my best to support her, knowing that she could well "not make it". This world can be Very Cruel! She doesn't/didn't deserve the life she's been/was forced into through absolutely no fault of her or anyone in her family! You can read her own words at: https://medium.com/search?source=---two_column_layout_nav----------------------------------&q=Dalia+Mohisen
