Iran - 2/28/26
A woman was killed and dozens more were injured by an
Iranian missile that struck a Tel Aviv residential block late Saturday night,
in the first deadly barrage to rock Israel during its renewed fighting with
Iran.
The victim, in her 40s, was found in critical condition
after a ballistic missile struck her apartment building in the coastal city,
causing heavy damage to the structure and its environs.
I do not gloat, nor feel good at the death of this Israeli woman
today, February 28, 2026. She might
have been a relative of mine. My father’s
family has descendants of many great-aunts and great-uncles who are Israeli
Jews.
9 Palestinians were killed, 19 were injured by the
Israeli occupation forces, which brings the death toll in the Gaza Strip to
72,095 and the injuries to 171,784
by February 28, 2026
The 40 year old Israeli woman who died almost certainly did
not deserve to die!
Her death was obviously caused by an Iranian missile that
was sent in retaliation for the Israeli missile attack early February 28, 2026.
Why is Hamas a terrorist organization in the minds of many,
and Israel is a democracy? Has Iran
been threatening to attack Israel since October 7, 2023, as well as being a
threat prior to then?
Israel launched an air campaign targeting the Iranian
nuclear program and regime leadership on June 12 to “degrade, destroy, and
remove [the] threat” of Iranian weaponization of its nuclear program. The June
12 to 13 strikes are the opening volley in a weekslong air campaign, according
to multiple Israeli officials. … Iran conducted a two-wave
ballistic missile attack targeting Israel from Iranian territory about 18 hours
after the initial Israeli strikes. This retaliation seems to have had limited
to no effect at this time.
I would note that in June, 2025 and on February 28, 2026 Israeli
attacked Iran, and Iran retaliated.
The former attacks were prior to the 2025 “ceasefire” in Gaza, while the
latter (today) was after. It seems obvious
to me that a key difference was that currently The Iranian leadership is
threatened with its very survival, whereas things in 2025 were not quite as directly
threatening. Surrender of the Iranian
leadership, would be similar to the situation that The Venenzuelan government
is in today, totally beholden to the U.S.
We have two totally separate types of issues here:
1.
Moral – ethical, as well as
2.
Practical .
I know of almost no one who believes that the Iranian
Government is fair to its people! I also
know that at least 40% of U.S. citizens strongly disagree with the policies of
President Donald Trump with respect to Ice, as well as related to the release
of the complete, unredacted (except where they protect the victims) of the late
Jeffrey Epstein.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, "Iran
must never be allowed to attain a nuclear weapon but the American people do not
want another endless and costly war in the Middle East when there are so many
problems at home."
He said the Trump administration "has not provided
Congress and the American people with critical details about the scope and
immediacy of the threat" and called on the administration to brief
Congress both publicly and privately.

Chuck Schumer, the highest ranking Democratic Party leader
clearly is “speaking out”, but what is he really saying? What time urgency is there in his
words? Is he objecting to the killing
of people in Iran today, February 28, 2026?
He is calling for a Congressional briefing.
I do not believe that because I am a white, male, Jewish American my life is "worth more" than a resident of Iran (or of Gaza).
I hear repeatedly of the threats of Iran, Hamas, Muslims, Arabs and similar.
I hear the word "terrorism" used a lot!
We, in the U.S. are to me THE REAL TERRORISTS!
We violate international law with impunity - no accountability to others or even many of our own people!
In the moment Donald Trump and The Republican Party is horrible! The Democrats are NOT resisting the rise of Fascism in The U.S.
There is an immediate threat of nuclear destruction coming from the invasion of Iran. The threat is most likely to come from an Israeli or American nuclear weapon. Iran does not have a nuclear bomb they could attack with.
Those being killed are disproportinately - Iranians, Gazans, Palestinian People in The West Bank, not U.S. citizens or Jewish Israelis.
In The United States white people are warned by the two Minneapolis killings, that our lives are no longer more valuable than those like George Floyd.
Separating - The Middle East - and scapegoating Iran's Government and Hamas - is both morally wrong, and wrong on a practical basis!
