Gaza Land – Trumpsville

I fail to understand in my heart, how so many can not see (or do they simply not care)?

What military aid has the U.S. provided since the October 7 Hamas attacks?

Since October 7, U.S. aid to Israel has played a crucial role in supporting its defense against escalating threats from Iran and its terror proxies. This includes the unprecedented Iranian ballistic missile strikes on Israel in April and October 2024. The U.S. response has been multifaceted, reflecting a strong strategic partnership and ongoing support during Israel's conflicts with Iran and its terror proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.

Key highlights of U.S. aid:

  1. Deployment of THAAD System: In October 2024, the U.S. announced it was sending the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system and 100 troops to Israel to intercept ballistic missile attacks from Iran and its proxies. The THAAD system complements Israel's existing defenses, such as the Patriot missile system, with broader coverage and advanced capabilities.
  2. Emergency Aid and Wartime Procurement:
    • In September 2024, the U.S. secured an $8.7 billion aid package for Israel, including $3.5 billion for wartime procurement and $5.2 billion for air defense systems like Iron Dome and David's Sling.
    • In April 2024, Congress approved $14.3 billion in emergency military assistance and $9.2 billion for humanitarian aid, including support for Gazan civilians.
  3. Paused Heavy Munitions Transfer: In May 2024, the Biden administration paused certain heavy
  4. munitions shipments pending Israel’s plans for operations in Rafah, where humanitarian concerns for displaced Palestinians were raised. This move reflected efforts to balance support for Israel with attention to humanitarian laws. The munitions transfer were later approved. Proposed $8 Billion Arms Sale: In January 2025, the U.S. State Department notified Congress about a proposed $8 billion arms sale to Israel. While some weapons could be dispatched from existing U.S. inventories, the majority would require up to several years for delivery. The arms package includes medium-range air-to-air missiles for aerial defense, 155 mm artillery shells for long-range strikes, Hellfire AGM-114 missiles, and 500-pound bombs.

Now, Hamas has a slightly smaller budget than the budget for the Israeli’s – what is spent related to Gaza!

Hamas has no air force.   Hamas’s “army” has not had the opportunity to train above the ground in what I would label “normal” ways.   Even prior to October 7, 2023, Israel controlled and prevented – any type of military force being visible in any way.   It had, and has various ways of spying upon Hamas’s efforts – including drones and much, much more.

I find the words spoken by the voices supporting Israel highly disturbing!

Israel’s highest ranking was for its military, which was placed fourth, behind Russia, the US, and China.

Yes, Gaza has gotten “outside support” from Iran, The Houthis, and Hezbollah.   Such support hardly has created an equal “playing field”.   Israel’s army with its Air Force is seemingly considerably stronger than its opposition, related to Gaza and Hamas.

I remain horrified that:

1.   The deaths of thousands of women and children in Gaza are blamed upon Hamas’s resistance,

2.   Hamas is the “militant” force in the eyes of most in the U.S., despite numerous U.N. resolutions, International legal determinations and similar which require Israel to withdraw from The West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza,

Israel is a “terrorist state”.   The United States is 100% complicit in the murder of thousands and thousands of Palestinian People.    We continue to support a narrative which blames the victim for resisting occupation.

It is quite simple to hear a narrative which blames Hamas 100% for what is going on and has gone on.   I suggest (also) reading an alternate perspective on Hamas.   For those who haven’t read anything, I can suggest two books – which I’ve read and reviewed.   Links to my reviews of them are at:

Netanyahu Is Preparing to Sabotage the Gaza Ceasefire…Again

Fresh off his triumphant trip to Washington, D.C., the Israeli leader is preparing a set of new demands for Phase 2 he hopes Hamas will reject.

From the moment Israel accepted the ceasefire deal, its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his aides have characterized it as a limited agreement aimed at securing the release of as many Israeli captives as possible and not a comprehensive plan to end the war. Now, emboldened by his recent meetings at the White House and riding a tsunami of giddiness over President Donald Trump’s proposal for the U.S. to seize control of Gaza, Netanyahu returned to Israel on Sunday ready to sabotage the already frangible agreement and expand his forces’ siege of the West Bank.

“This trip, and the conversations we held with the president of the United States, included additional incredible achievements that can guarantee the security of Israel for generations,” Netanyahu boasted. “I am not exaggerating. I’m not overstating. There are opportunities here for possibilities that I don’t think we ever dreamed of — or at least until the last few months, they didn’t seem possible, but they are possible.”

Today, February 10, 2025, Hamas is threatening to not complete the current agreements for the Ceasefire.   Israel has consistently broken the Ceasefire.    Israel can easily re-arrest Palestinians.  It has done so previously.   The only way that Hamas can retaliate is to either create another incident similar to October 7th

Or:

To halt the release of Israeli captives.

Once the captives are released, Hamas and the Palestinian People can only rely upon further resistance, and/or pressure from “outside” such as from The U.N. and The World Court.

The U.S. and Israel have consistently blocked any action being taken to force Israel to seriously negotiate for a lasting peace.

Hamas has threatened to postpone the next hostage release scheduled to take place in Gaza on Saturday “until further notice,” accusing Israel of breaking the ceasefire deal. …

Abu Obeida detailed various alleged violations of the agreement by Israel over the past three weeks, including “delaying the return of the displaced to the northern Gaza Strip, targeting them with shelling and gunfire in various areas of the strip, and not allowing the entry of relief supplies in all their forms according to what was agreed upon.” Hamas also accused Israel of not allowing tents, prefabricated houses, fuel, or rubble-removing mechanisms into the strip. It alleged Israel was also delaying the entry of essential medicines and hospital supplies.

I am not optimistic!

1.   President Trump supports Israel 110%!

2.   Joe Biden supported Israel only 100%

3.   Where the U.S. and much of its citizenry criticize Israel it generally is limited to saying that Israel’s Prime Minister is “the problem”.

4.   A lasting peace will NOT happen until there is acknowledgement of the harm caused to the Palestinian People at a minimum dating to 1967 together with:

5.   Serious Negotiations – being FORCED upon Israel’s leadership, where the Palestinian People are Full Partners in the negotiations.

Netanyahu is not seeking a lasting peace.   He has the support of the Israeli (Jewish) People as long as a war continues and/or there is hope for the release of the Israeli’s who are still held by Hamas.

It is amazing that Hamas can resist the massive forces it faces!   The Palestinian People continue to face a horrific present and future.   The Settlers of The West Bank are threatening, killing and injuring Palestinian People with total impunity.

It is obvious that a majority of Israeli Jews and many American Jews greatly fear that the Palestinian People – through Hamas’s current “leadership” will kill many, if not all of the Israeli Jews.

The sad truth is that the more killing, the more bombs, and similar will only continue to build fear and eventually a real threat of a lot of Israeli Jews (and perhaps more) may be killed.

Currently, a great opportunity exists now for building a lasting peace!   The vast majority of Palestinian People want a lasting peace.   A lasting peace will require both contiguous land within the West Bank (+ Gaza) and an agreement related to East Jerusalem – that at a minimum – honors the “Holy Sites” of all the relevant religions in the Old City and in general honors the Palestinian City of Jerusalem – with things not centered on the Jews (alone or close to alone).

In today’s “political realities”  there is None of this!!!!

It is strange – that Israeli Jews can trust their Palestinian Professionals such as pharmacists and physicians – including surgeons to – help them – as they want and need help and support, and yet – the Palestinian People – have no “validity” in their lives – except as they “serve” our Jewish brethren.

In the end – we – the Jews – need to get to know individual Palestinians and see their humanity and build some trust.   It isn’t easy, and it is Vitally Important.

If we give in to the Christian-Zionist Narrative – we are oft times literally – acceding to the view that Calls for the Destruction of Our Entire Planet – Earth.

Too many of these “true believers” honestly believe that Israel being provoked to seek to nuclearly destroy – Iran – in “self-defense” – will help bring Jesus back and then –

“The Christian Future” – can “finally” – begin to take place as those who have accepted Jesus as “their savior” – will move forward – and others – not True Christians, as well as Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics, ++++ will be “gone”.

Personally – I believe that global warming will be a minute issue – if/when – nuclear war begins.– As Israel feels so threatened that it begins – the Destruction of our Planet because Hiroshima and Nagasaki – were much more primitive in their Horrific Destruction – than things will be – including directly Israel itself – being as close as it is to Iran.  China – Russia – India, Pakistan – and of course the U.S. – will probably not remain on the sidelines for long – if this comes to pass.

Let’s work for peace!   We don’t have to Love Each Other!   We do need to Respect Each Other!

A Lasting Peace – seeking it is Dangerous in a sense.

Not actively seeking a Lasting Just Peace – is much more dangerous.

Listen – to different, caring voices – Sabeel (Christian), the Peace Communities (small) within Israel, Palestinian-Americans, Jewish Voice for Peace and other “less radical” Jewish Voices – as well as the J Streets – and even the Zionists.

We need to listen and really hear- our fears, our hopes – Our Future!
