Disaster - 2025 ?



Women For... about to lose 19th Amend if that work around Proj 25 last name bill goes through

Now let’s looks at some of this stuff:

1.   Democratic Party – Insiders – at least a few, probably more than a few:

a.   Pushed JB – as the “unity” or “safe” candidate to be nominated when he was floundering – James Clybourn rescued him – in S. Carolina – 2020

b.   Hid his increasing – memory related – aging issues over much of the 3 ½+ years – before he visibly Fell Apart debating – DT – in 2024 – leading to a rushed KH as the Dems nominee

2.   The 2024 Democratic Presidential Campaign – was horribly, horribly run including:

a.   The primary reason to vote for KH – was – “DT – will be HORRIBLE – so vote for KH!”- clue 1 – it didn’t work!

b.   Also – the Messaging repeatedly said – “The Economy is Great – so much better than it was under DT” and for those whose rent had gone up substantially, whose food costs had gone up substantially, whose medical related costs had gone up substantially – and whose work earnings (their only source of income – with no savings) had either stayed the same or gone up far less than their expenses – such words sounded both like Lies and like – the Democrats and KH – just didn’t care

c.      There was a big push to say – “We are Middle of the Road, not Extremists – see – how in Alignment we are with – those ‘Middle of the Road Republicans’ “ – seeking to draw – white women – from voting for DT, and ‘turn them’ to KH – only problem – mostly it drew such white women to not vote for president – if that – AND it pissed off many – including BIPOC – who didn’t vote – taking away far more potential supportive voters, than the few that it brought in,

d.      Almost zero – potential – voters – voted for KH because of her stand on Gaza/Palestinians/Israel

And:

A Lot of BIPOC – didn’t vote for President because – of the support of Israel – Michigan definitely or almost definitely was lost to the Dems -because of this and Pennsylvania quite likely + a few other states may have been affected

3.                    Donald Trump and the Republicans are excellent at playing upon the Fears of many.   The Democrats are excellent at laying out “facts” – some of which are true, and some of which are reflecting the “echo chambers” many of them live within – Fears – bring out votes much more than – thinking/knowledge/intellect and similar

4.                    Fascism – or whatever label you wish to put on what is either starting or the direction we are heading – has some significant characteristics that we need to pay attention to:

a.             People – tend to not look for consistency – DT can be Racist -  but for some (white female folks) – they ignore – his intense sexism – for example

b.             The intention – of saying so many Outrageous Things is not to Land with most of them – it serves multiple purposes – virtually all of which hurt most of us – and help entrench – the Super-Wealthy and those allied with them

c.              Relies – upon our passivity – our fears – our feeling stunned – and Too Too Many of us – are waiting and may be waiting until it really is Too Late

5.                    We can – and Must – react – take on the “Establishment” – in multiple ways.    We have a whole range of issues to deal with.   We also have various ways, from “radical” stuff – like risking arrest (or even being deported) – blocking buildings/streets etc. to writing/calling Congressional Offices.

In doing this, it’s important, I believe, for us to build “communities of support” – where we can deal with our personal s**t – getting emotional support, as well as organizing-organizing-organizing – doing political work in a variety of ways.

Anyone who tells you they have:  “The Answer” – either is simply thinking in “negatives” – not affirming, positive options, is in denial about what we are up against, and/or just doesn’t understand the depths of what it will take – if we even have a realistic chance.

6.                    and it's only just begun

On the positive side:

a.   It probably will take roughly 4% of us to deeply do the work – along with others supporting us

And:

With all their Extreme Craziness – and bizarre actions, they are likely to Turn a lot of Influence and “normal” people off – and their keeping united may never happen beyond the coming few days

On the Negative Side:

a.   It’s tough – and it’s going to get tougher +

b.   We gotta be in it for the long haul – it’s going to take years – to have real chances for success and:

c.    We’re taking on amoral – super-wealth crazy-ass People.

I’m NOT optimistic – and (still) Deeply Committed to Trying my Best!

Daniel Marx - My Brother

  July 23, 1953 - April 22, 2024 My brother died last evening officially at 7:57 pm in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  I was the only one in the room to see his journey move forward.    I wasn't the most "with it" of kids!   When my mother and brother came home from the hospital I evidently said:  "Who's that woman?" to my father.     In 1956, when Daniel was three we moved from Ann Arbor, Michigan to West Lafayette, Indiana.   We lived the first year in a university owned house near the intersection of Happy Hollow and North River Roads in WL.   A year later our parents bought the house at 122 North Street, across the street from Morton School where we grew up.   The upstairs apartment's living room was our bedroom, and the bedroom was our parent's bedroom.
