My Life

as a Jew

as a white man

Citizen

of the United States

Matters

but

and Those

"Like Her"

are Somehow

"Collateral Damage"

"Supporters of Hamas"

A-rabs

Muslims

and

That Somehow

Seemingly "Convicts" her

or Others

She knows and/or Loves

or Doesn't Know

at All

Are Somehow

Different

How, How

are We Different

I'm Crying

Those I Know

are Highly Formally Educated

"Learned People"

and

They are Totally Blind

to My Feelings

and

Much More Importantly

to the Survival

of Millions,

Millions

of Others

Both (the latter)

In Being Palestinian-Americans

With Deep Hearts

I Care

I Try to Care

and Accept My Feelings

of Horror

That Those I Know

and Care About

Often, Don't See

The Reality

That is Right in Front of My Face

Innocence - 

Is No Longer an Option

(if it Ever was)

The Genocide

is Visible to Us All!

- Not to Neglect

in the Same Breath

The 400+ Years

of Genocide

of Black-Americans

Which Continues!

Tears

BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY My father (Menachem) Imanuel Marx died Friday, November 13, 1964, when I was 13 years old.    My mother woke my brother and I up with the news early that morning.    We went to the hospital and saw him for the last time. I didn’t cry then.       Daniel and I went to school that day.   I didn’t tell anyone. Two days later at the funeral, I was still being “a man” (i.e. not crying).   Until I was in my second men’s group around age 31, I didn’t allow myself to cry .    I rationalized this by saying to myself:   “ How does x compare with the death of my father ?”.
