Linzess and More

Early each morning I take the strongest dosage available of Linzess, a potent medication I need for my ongoing constipation problem.    Normally, I take our dog Zoey out and then exercise.   Within an hour after finishing my exercising- my system begins emptying - which is quite an experience.

As I get older I learn that I need to follow my body - more and more!    Commonly, I have no sense of how intense things may get - then wow - No more bloating (generally) - and I have 3-5 "wonderful" times in my favorite place. 

Sometimes it happens quickly and is over easily.  Other times it takes a lot of time and patience.  I am thankful that I can take this expensive medication.   At the same time, my body can demolish me and take me for an h of a ride!

Big Girls Don't Cry

BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY My father (Menachem) Imanuel Marx died Friday, November 13, 1964, when I was 13 years old.    My mother woke my brother and I up with the news early that morning.    We went to the hospital and saw him for the last time. I didn’t cry then.       Daniel and I went to school that day.   I didn’t tell anyone. Two days later at the funeral, I was still being “a man” (i.e. not crying).   Until I was in my second men’s group around age 31, I didn’t allow myself to cry .    I rationalized this by saying to myself:   “ How does x compare with the death of my father ?”.
